After having launched the Southern 'Schools' V Class on D&H we converted our LMS 8F project from Zimo to D&H. Both will be 85£ each. Also the LNER A4 project will be soon available on D&H for 95£. Please have a look at our website for further details. https://locomansounds.com/product-category/dcc-sound-decoders/d-and-h/ Photo by A .Anderson. Would you distribute your sound projects by download (coded) rather than installed on a decoder? As I have a D & H programmer, this would save me postage abroad... Or does the coded download only work with Zimo? Thank you. Mark
Locoman58
In the December issue #162 of Hornby Magazine Mike Wild shows how to install our Doehler & Haass 8-pin sound chip into a Hornby Britannia Class and add front light and firebox flicker. Also a TangBand speaker with HighBass has been installed. In addition, we recommend to add a single sugarcube speaker in parallel for a more brilliant and louder sound. Please watch the video of the model here. Edited November 21, 2020 by Locoman58

Can you please advise which decoder family you will be using for the new A2/2 and A2/3 sound project? (I'm hoping its ESU LokSound as your A3 V5 is currently working very smoothly in my A2/2, so its a low risk option for my A2/3 which is due to arrive on Monday.) Mad McCann
One thing I noted from a Peter Handford recording of an A2/2 was the considerable big end noise when under power. Might be worth exploring. Davy.

DavidM
Do these projects (and D&H decoders in general) have an auto adjust BEMF function similar to CV54 on an ESU decoder?

DavidM
Thanks, one further question if I may! The SD22A-2 8-Pin decoder doesn't appear to be covered in the manual - is this suitable for hardwiring IE separate wires on the 8 pin adapter and pre-fitted speaker cables? Thanks, Dave

Sorry if I'm being thick! :-) what is best to buy if I'm looking for a decoder to hardwire a loco that draws max 1 amp, has wires for hard wiring and speaker wires? RMweb Gold trw1089 Posted February 27 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 27 Here is a video done up for Locoman Sounds demonstrating one of two new sound files for a War Department Austerity 2-8-0. This is the “worn” version with loud rod clank, uneven chuffs, leaking steam and rattling injectors.
RMweb Gold trw1089 Posted February 27 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 27 The second version of the WD 2-8-0 sound file represents a new or recently overhauled loco with clear even chuffs, quieter rod clank when coasting, and a clear injector sound. Both projects have a choice of whistles for F2 selectable via CV.
