RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted January 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2020 Looking for a little help here please! A friend's little boy has been given some Marklin stock of varying ages by his German rellies - with AC wheels of course. He's a Hornby boy ! Some have parallel axles, some pinpoint. There seems to be a multitude of different DC wheelsets available, I have no idea what to get for him. Any guidance gratefully received! Does anything else fit into these, that we may have a chance of getting for him? He's a nice lad and his folk haven't got much brass, so I'm trying to help them out here as a favour. It's not a 'job' from work.
doctor quinn
Hi Neill, Maerklin use the same spec as Lima 24.4 - mm axle length so old Lima wheels will fit but if you pm me a street address I have a bag of assorted continental wheels that he can have. They’re mostly Roco (axles 24.75mm) so you may have to swap the wheels onto the Maerklin axles but both use 2mm diameter. All the best Nick
Vinedusk
In addition, Any models after 1997 should be able to use Trix wheels.
