Another retro K4 with Hornby ivatt mogul chassis and GBL body. Moulded handrails give it the margate feel

Hi,

I think you need to extend the front bogie a bit and use slightly bigger wheels. You can see on the underframe where the wheels should sit and approximately what size they should be. But all in all a lovely model well done.

And here we are, another Retro-style model nearing completion!

I know the nameplates are a mite big but it's the best I can do. Getting specially-commissioned nameplates takes a bit of time and money. I did write to the companies but I didn't hear back. And yes, the tender lining's not the best but with some tidying up, it'll look better. Apart from that, a nice model all the same even though it keeps stopping and starting every now and then. Using a 9-volt battery would be more of an option than running on power.

Totally agree, need to track down an old Triang Std 3 and nick the bogies. The old one on the K4 is earmarked for this

Another use of a Hornby Ivatt chassis with a frame extension from the GBL one. Is a very decent fit and a dead ringer for the Hornby nevvawazza shown in the Pat Hammond book vol 3
