Had no problems getting up from Newport. Good selection of layouts today.
RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted February 16, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 16, 2020 Show was closed at 3pm due to weather and water...good decision by the organisers. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/regional-news/river-monnow-hits-highest-levels-3853936 1 1
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted February 16, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 16, 2020 Right decision for sure. But sun was shining brightly on way home. Only 90 mins to scoff cake, drink tea, see layouts and woffle but still well worth the trip.....
RMweb Gold Dougjuk Posted February 16, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) Was a good day, I cleared up and packed the car in dry wether for a change, had a good operating day with my two guys learning the NEC system and the computer signalling. The show was very good and reasonably well attended considering the appalling weather. Lets hope for better weather next year. ColinM
I tried to make it from Penperlleni (near Pontypool) but despite trying three different routes I eventually had to turn back as all were affected by an overflowing river Usk. I could have gone via Newport I suppose but didn’t have time for the long diversion. I'm glad to hear the show was still well attended despite the weather. Perhaps I will make it next year. Colin.
Wayne 37901
A few from me of the show. Not been to the Monmouth one before but it was a nice little show and one I'd be interested in attending with a layout myself. Good to catch up with @Gilbertagain and @Rich Papper Cheers Wayne 2

Having seen the lower stretches of the Usk near J24 I can completely understand. I worked in that part of the world from 1996-2018 and I've never seen anything like it...
Bristol_Rich
I unfortunately bailed out before the event on Saturday as I didn’t fancy my chances getting across the Severn and the route up the Wye valley very early Sunday morning... A real shame as it’s a great show...looking forward to 2021...
