amdaley
Hello Everyone. Can anyone tell me roughly when was the last time Hornby used Ringfield motors in their locos ? The reason I ask is because I heard of someone buying a Thomas tender loco in the recent past & it has a Ringfield motor fitted ? Thank you. Tony. PM47079
I had a Henry tender drive loco I 2006/07 I think it had a five pole version of the ringfield.
RAF96
Take a look on Hornbyguide.com and trawl through the tender locos as I would think they were the last to convert to can motors. The 0-6-0 ringfields went over to cans fairly early in life. Most associated service sheets have an issue date for comparison.
hallmodelspares
2009 as some Thomas were still ringfields. I bought the solo railroad 'northern belle loco class 47' it still had a 5 pole ringfield. Around 2012 they stopped new spares i.e motors though stocks were good at that time for spares
