RMweb Gold teaky Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 4, 2020 I have purchased cable of various sizes from both of the following companies in the past and would happily do so again. https://cpc.farnell.com/c/cable-leads-connectors/cable/cable-wire https://www.rapidonline.com/ If you are in Newfoundland though I'd imagine a local supplier would be less expensive due to postage.

Yes... I can back CPC as one of those Companies to use or good old RS Components. I'll give Rapidonline a try next time I need to place an order, not come across them Hmmm Funny, When I first read the Thread Name.... I took it as Overhead Electrification WIRE for Pantograph USE and was interested in what Fine Wire you GUYS would use... What a 22 Carrot Plonker (I am) lol Regards Jamie
lofty1966
Thank you for all your help gents. It was cheaper through your links than to source it locally. Gotta love Canada Post and their exorbitant pricing. Tsk.
PenrithBeacon
Railroom Electronics do 'DCC Decoder wire stranded 0.5mm' in different colours. All Components do 'EW53 very fine 7/40' in different colours. They appear to be the same to me

As soon as you throw out junk, you find a use for it.... (Been there, done that....) Charity shops and I think Poundland etc. (usual disclaimer) may have them. Cheap headphones can go open circuit easily - the break is usually at the plug or the phone leaving the wire OK for use. It won't handle much current, but will do for LED lighting etc. Edited February 12, 2020 by Il Grifone

RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted February 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 13, 2020 I've just ordered 0.04mm/0.5mm OD fine decoder wire from a german seller on Ebay. Free postage, £3.09 for 10m. Will let you know when/if it turns up. I only want black as it will to go between the decoder/pick ups in the tender and the loco. Ian
