It needs to be hauled by a locomotive as the often described ‘motorised’ element of this item reflects the motor driving the cleaning heads and not the movement of the model. It works by the track cleaning vehicle supplying a small amount of cleaning fluid and then polishing the rails with the rotating pads. A full range of spares and fluids are available in the Dapol range. Please note that Track Cleaning Fluid is not supplied with the model. Steadfast Posted February 13, 2020 Share Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) The Intercity pair could save me some resprays, so really excited to see these announced. I've been stocking up on cheap HSTs when I see them. However, can I trust Dapol's livery application? They vary from the sublime (GWR and GNER HSTs) to some really rather crude applications, with poor typeface matches, obvious mistakes and frankly awful etched nameplates. Inconsistency I guess is the issue in my mind. Think I'll need to see production samples before I decide whether to buy or paint my own pair. MGR Hooper! Posted November 30, 2020 Share Posted November 30, 2020 I've reluctantly cancelled my order for GM2210302 GWR Final Day's Celebrity set. Was let down by the fact that both GM and Dapol refused to take onboard any feedback regarding the black masking around the headlights. The model has it all wrong. People contacted both GM and Dapol regarding the error when painted samples were shown. Neither Dapol nor GM bothered to reply even though the saw the messages. Thankfully there's other Dapol HSTs to be had in special liveries and I have instead gone for Dapol/RoS 2D-019-203 LNER HST "NRM 40". Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hey ho, your loss! I've explained the error in my post and your quoted post shows exactly how bad the black masking around the headlight is. So you've proved my point about the error. And no where have I said that the prototype was wrong. I clearly said that the black masking around the headlights is the issue.
