Not sure if this would count or not, but this knocked over sign on my old Portway Center layout raised some chuckles at the exhibitions it attended...

(It reads "Portway welcomes careful drivers")

Nice RS-3, Weaver or Atlas?

As to "careful driving"; this sign was installed on a Monday, hit sometime before Wednesday afternoon, I took the photo the following Sunday, and surprisingly it was replaced the next day (Monday):IMG_20191027_143126.jpg.b06f4ae01055ba3bbd8147571c7ec499.jpg:

Crime 1... I watched nobody's dancing on ice last night,  in my defence one of the dances had an image of the City of Truro,  and a few carriages in the background.

Crime 2,3,4.... 1000000..

My future exhibition layout will have..

Locos and carriages in highland green,  some will be diseasals

There will be private owner wagons...

The layouts called Tiree and Tiree only a had a one horse power track on the pier, this has as well,  main line and branch based on HR practice.

Oh and it's based around the date of 1963...

Ah yes, that reminds me of a near disaster of mine.

I took my Hornby APT down to the clubroom and run it once around, which went fine. I then fiddled with it

This time, I gave it full power and off it went - got to show off the tilt in action, around the largish radius curves!

As it was howling through the station, one of our members stepped forward & grabbed it! I looked at him strangely and he glared back at me.

On looking at the APT, I realised why. I must have released the pantograph with my fiddling, which in true Hornby style, went way up in the air, well outside any loading gauge.

Of course the member in question, was the one who had only recently built the footbridge. He wasn't happy.

Little known fact, but back in 1969, we sent the Yanks Flying Scotsman. Not to be out done, they send us this.....

It would have travelled further, but it kept knocking down station awnings...;)

Is that actually on the track?

Noted that it didn't even 'Nudge the Canopy'  - which will have pleased Mike Bonwick - or not! (AM)

"This doesn't look like Sodor any more" said Annie with a worried tone in her voice.

"My axle boxes are getting all hot and bothered", complained Clarabel.

"How the heck are we moving?" said Annie.

"Blowed if I know" replied Clarabel "I can't see any Overhead wires either!"
