Right, That's it now for the pub. Once installed it will likely get some further weathering and gutters/drain pipes and maybe even an interior. Welcome to the Waggon & Horses.

I wasn't going to bother posting this but might as well. A box was dropped off earlier in the week on my way to the supper market. A little later this picture appeared in my inbox. Still bits to do but this is where the pub will sit. No more work will be done on this until most of the rest of the main structures are in.

Now that after next weekend we will be able to meet up to six people inside as long as we keep at least 1m apart, layout building will hopefully re-commence. In the meantime Cam as been doing up a couple of Heljan 37/4's up in the condition after Margam took their paint brushes to them. Here are 37402 & 37425 posed on the new layout with the scrap train.

And 402 with a little photshop trickery:

Diorama3.jpg.86b29663ecb3e6b9c035ceb83e411115.jpg

Reminds me of visiting the renown Jack Nelson's attic in my youth. His working LNWR dioramas were all modelled in perspective with scratch built UK HO as the middle ground. A few were displayed at a Museum in Wales for some time, but sadly seem to have been lost since.

Superb pics Al, that bridge will be fantastic for some nice low level shots, but you will need a bus UNDER the bridge as opposed to one on top, haha.:D:good:

If you can find me a reasonably priced O gauge bus from the late 80's/early 90's I'll gladly buy more than 1!!! The best I can find is Steve Betties' Leyland National kit which is £65 and the castings don't look great.

Very little progress but things are moving! All the main walls are in and I've made a start on the cobbled road in front of the arches. I am not happy with the arch blank so this will get replaced, it was done before lock down and has bowed badly, but you get the idea.

Very little to report on the layout but I have spent a couple of hours today refurbishing/repainting the platform edging from Russel St in preparation for it to be used on this layout. Still a way to go but hopefully I will have these done this week ready for P1 & P2. Need to either cut and shut another ramp or work out where Cam got these from as we're missing a piece!

Too much going on away form the layout at the moment but we are making a little progress. 37427 has broken cover properly this morning and as both of us are off work today we've had an hour on the layout. Bus positioned under the bridge for @Andrew P, first board wired & the cobles have had a coat of charcoal paint.

Should have an Intentio delivery at some point soon and I can crack on with the gap in front of the cobbles. More work on the platform edging this afternoon!

Life has been getting in the way of layout progress, but we had our first layout catch up tonight for some time, and progress will actually be made over the next few week. My EB Mk1 set and a couple of Paul Rolley's Scrap wagons we're posed just because we could!

How did you get on with those EB MK1s

I am struggling with one and cant get the roof to fit correctly. I put it aside for a few months  and came back to it only to find its warped!

Despite following the instructions I found the roof would not sit into the coach end and leaves a gap at the top

Paul, I am still finding my way myself! I got stuck on the underframes and still need to return to them. I think they do end up leaving a bit of a gap but I am hopeful that once I properly fit the roofs with the bolt up through the floor into the retaining nuts in the roof that they will pull the roof down a little. I have built these as per the instructions in the main, but I have read of people building the bodies separate from the chassis which would allow you to fill the gap between end and roof.

I sanded my roofs down from the inside after offering up and seeing where the touching points were. I suppose i shaped the inside of the roof to match the end profile. Just a bit of filler is needed afterwards.

Cheers
