Info wanted on very small deisel refuelling point please?

Recommended Posts

Hello All.

I am currently building a small 5' long layout representing a small yard. (See Elbow Lane in the Layouts section)

I'm looking for info on a small diesel refuelling point. Just one loco and no roof over it like the Bachmann offering.

In fact something quite crude as it is at the front of the layout so I cannot have too much infrastructure to it.

Does anyone know of one and better still know where I can find photos of it please?

Thanks in advance.

The one on my EM layout Barber's Bridge is broadly similar to the Knightwing offering with the angled roof, but is a whitemetal kit of unknown origin.

Wouldn't be that difficult to scratchbuild in plastic if you fancied a modeling challenge?

I used the standard Bachmann fuelling point but removed the roof on my small Tees Yard WRD layout. It can be seen at the bottom of the photo.

The prototype fuelling point at Tees Yard is a simple affair with no roof covering.

That Tees Yard is just the sort of thing I want.

Thanks very much.

Even simpler is the arrangement EWS used at Acton Mainline, just some hard standing and the occasional 2 axle road tanker fuelling the locos directly.

And at the Network Rail workshops in York https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/road/e2bb3da71

Alternatively the short lived Freightliner fueling point in York
