Traffic cones have been with us since 1958. Being in Engineering for 41 yrs I still see them in use today marking trip hazards fluid spills and the like  - why they were acquired I'm not sure - maybe it's all part of the railway detritus?  - Saying that I’ve not been round a depot since Gresty Road for a few years.

Ian.

Ive looked round many depots during work hours and opendays never come a cross "road cones" must be modern thing like another H&S safe work practice.

Like safety signs ect ...Ian

Maybe they had a “tidy up?”

Hope we get to see and hear more about this :) Wonderful modelling.

Thanks Rich

The SP is partially stripped down at present  - I have to reorder and remake the id scenic backscenes as they don't agree with MDF which makes them bubble with heat and moisture - a  panel boarded frame is the way forward also with a rear frame as the dampness in the garage tends to warp this too - Atmospherics are always  challenging.

Front fascias to be profiled and gloss sprayed when the local woodshop eventually reopens.

Jock Flangeway Snowplough up for a weather  - also 2 Class 27 are and maybe another Blue late 26 out for various work by people far better at it than me  -  but no real rush for these.

Fuelling - Servicing Shed from a stripped earlier scratchbuilt structure. WILLS asbestos side cladding started matching the East Works Shed. This is the main feature on the second “B” baseboard plank.

Traction now despatched for weathering. But no movement on sourcing material for the next baseboard as yet.

Edge walling for separating  baseboard “B” embankments.

Thought this was going to be a chore but turned out quite enjoyable. Details make a lot of difference nothing too tedious - the long tab is to aid baseboard side attachment.

Backscene removed. Baseboard “B” extension planning with the recycled partially Wills Sheet clad (unfinished) Fuelling - Servicing Shed in more or less it's correct position. Embankment dividing walls temporarily added.

Baseboard “B” nearly levelled to match. Dividing walls added loosely to assess. The track plan is not finalised as there is a number of options most probably to the side and in between the embankment. Yes. I’m making all this up as I go along. C&L on order and a Code 75 inspection pit for the Servicing Shed.

Hi

Really lovely modelling...

It's really looking good...

A quick question if I may....Who makes the roof vents that ore on your shed roof or are they scratch made ?

Cheers Bill

Hi

Thanks for the fast reply...

Unfortunately I don't really want the building just the vents so I'll contact them to see if they are available as a separate item.

Thanks again for the reply

Cheers Bill

Yes - good details - I think it is the old Hornby shed.

I raided the kids LEGO years back and found these window shutters quite useful when trimmed and sprayed.

Unit models now Frizinghall Models have a decent selection of vents for buildings and such.
