East Coast Electrification wiring train

Recommended Posts

Hi

Does anyone have any details and photos of the East Coast wiring train please? I've tried the usual places and can't find anything unfortunately.

The train has been abandoned south of the wheel lathe at Craigentinney since the end of the electrification scheme.

Also what coaches were converted to form it?

A Google site search of departmentals.com for Craigentinny gave up the following sighting log for 28/02/2019 (including the proper location):

Portobello OHLM Depot

975681 - pantograph coach - http://departmentals.com/departmental/975681 - ex-BSK 34781

975682 -           "               "     - (link as above, just replace coach no. in link) - ex-BSK 34467

975685 - stores & generator - ex-SK 24662

975686 - stores - ex-CK 15971

975687 - stores and roof access - ex-CK 15846

975688 - staff office - ex-CK 15764

975920 - cable drum carrier - ex-SK 25025

These are all mk1 coaches and it seems most have recently been moved to Carnforth.

EDIT: I maybe didn't make it clear but all coaches have pics available, not just the first two. Just replace the number in the link given.

Two moved to Carnforth just before Christmas, the other four on 27th Feb. Just the cable drum carrier 975920 remains now.

Presumably went by road then?

Can't have turned a wheel for decades
