expoEM Spring 2020

 

A Showcase of the Best in 4mm Railway Modelling

 

The flagship event of the EM Gauge Society will take place as usual this year over the weekend of May 16th/17th at the now well-established venue of Bracknell Leisure Centre. On display will be at least nine finescale layouts representing the best in 4mm scale modelling, in addition to this year’s guest layout: Foston Mills in 7mm scale. In addition there will be plenty of opportunity to stock up on modelling supplies with upwards of 30 specialist traders in attendance (N.B. this will be the penultimate show to be attended by Wizard Models). In addition there will be a wide variety of ‘Show you how’ demonstrations and other special interest society stands. As usual there will also be the EM and P4 test track, the EMGS Trade Stand - selling among other things, the Society’s new range of EM track and turnouts, and the ever popular members’ second hand sales.

Covid-19 Outbreak

 

Plans are in place for both expoEM Spring and expoEM Autumn.

At this stage it is impossible to know whether either of these events will take place.

The Government will issue guidelines on gatherings and we suspect that there is a great possibility that we will need to cancel the one or both of these events.   Alternatively the event venues may decide to cancel the bookings.

Whatever happens we will advise you via an update here and on the EMGS website https://www.emgs.org/.  We do realise that it will be sad to cancel, but the health and well-being of everyone is far more important.

Should you be in an ‘at risk’ category then we suggest that you seriously consider not attending even if the events proceed.

In view of the Government’s latest advice re avoiding “non-essential” contact, the EMGS has made the decision to cancel expoEM Spring. We realise that this will cause disappointment to many people but the Society is of the firm belief that it would be foolish to ignore the advice and go ahead with the show.
