Millholme models

Recommended Posts

No Millholme Models is part of Stevenson.  The last time I spoke with Paul Barker he had moved to Scotland and I don't have tha address.

I will PM the email address I have.

I will have an old price list somewhere if that would help

Thanks for the pm. A price list would be excellent as I’m curious about what the range covered.

Regards

Duncan

Here are the 4 pages - these don't include the loco castings which he usual has at exhibitions.  I don't think I've seen a separate list for those, but he may be able to supply by email.

This list, incidentally, I 'm pretty sure Gordon A picked up for me - so he should have known they aren't part of the Nucast Partners ;-)

Page 4 includes bank account details, so I can supply these by PM if needed - but I've cropped them out for the public view.

The list with prices shown was still current at Expo EM North last September. Paul does not have a website, so its call or email. He does quite a bit more than the list suggests, so asking him if he does something in particular from the old ranges, especially castings-only packages, not shown might prove fruitful. I had not heard he moved to Scotland.

I saw him at the start of March at Preston show. Acquired a Furness Railway D5 kit and a LNWR milk van. The Stevenson Carriages list posted above seems to match the one i was given at the show. However, i have uploaded the price/product list for the Millholme range too.

Excuse me, but I'm new here.  Is this a current thread? March of the year 2020?
I'm returning to modelling and looking for the suppliers I used to know for the LYRS.  MAJ Models for instance, Cotswold, MPD.

I'm lost!!

Welcome to RMWeb!

Sorry to disappoint, but all three of those manufacturers have long since gone.  I have attached a link HERE to a 2018 list of what was available to L&Y modellers. (It's not my list or my website, but it might give you a starting point.)

Regards

Paul

Sadly a lot of these suppliers seem to be long gone, and whilst the Nucast Partnership are starting to reintroduce some of the Nucast range I guess it will be a slow and selective process

Not to everyone's liking the best place to find items is eBay, availability patchy with a lot of competition and no guarantee on quality/completeness of the items

London Road models have a supurb reputation for quality kits

Some interesting news. Squires Tools of Bognor Regis have bought Stevenson Carriages and Millholme models from Paul Barker. (They confirmed that earlier today). They are relaunching the carriages first then Millholme loco kits on eBay on a ‘buy now’ basis ad complete kits. Prices increased by £5 but now post free. Whilst it is good that the names will live on, I don’t see any ‘sides and ends only’ packages where the average punter can supply roofs, underframes etc from other sources. I will also miss having a cheerful natter with Paul Barker at serious modellers shows (as well as doing a deal to buy a mixture of kit parts).  Whether we shall see the kits on offer at shows such as ExpoEM or Scale4 remains to be seen.

Been on eBay for a while. I'm sure there was a thread, but it might have been buried in the SE Finecast one.

Coaches here.

They seem to have about 50 kit items at a time. Then change them about. So if you want something it might be worth asking. The only Millholme loco kit I've seen was the Maryport & Carlisle 0-6-0

I built a LNERA2/3 and a LNER Q1 (more like a Centurion Tank and about the same weight) many years ago.

Both were dire in the extreme , poor castings and etchings, poor fit etc etc .

Examples of the A2/3 have been shown on Wright Writes as Tony says "hit it with a hammer and use it for ballast" They must be at least a 30 + year old design. Hopefully new moulds by now !! ?

I contacted the last seller before Squires  re the H&BR Tender engine listed asking about any improvements, he gave a vague reply !! I didnt buy one !!

Buyer beware.
