Tony's Trains Of Rugby are staying open for mail order via telephone or website orders :)

Coronavirus Update (23/03/2020):

Acting on Government instructions the retail shop is now CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

We are still hoping to offer a full mail order service either by placing an order on www.tonystrainsofrugby.com (more items to be added in the next few days) or over the phone on 01788 543442 (at present I am planning to man the phone lines during usual business hours)

This is potentially subject to change as we monitor the government guidelines and consider our future approaches from there.

In the meantime thank you for all your continued support

Hi everyone,

As Accurascale is an online business we can still answer any of your queries via email, accept pre-orders etc. Just drop us a line at sales@accurascale.co.uk. We are also quite active on here and will continue to be in the Accurascale section of the site.

Our warehouse is still fully operational so we can distribute any orders for in stock items and for wholesale orders too! We are unable to take phone orders but can take online orders via our website https://accurascale.co.uk/

Stay safe, everyone and use this time wisely to enjoy your layout, modelling projects and collections!

Cheers,

Fran

Strathwood Publishing is still open with our efficient mail order service as usual, order via website https://www.strathwood.co.uk/ or by telephone or by post, we are sending everything out by Royal Mail just now.

We expect our delayed Southern Electric books to arrive in our Bedford warehouse now between 21st and 25th April assuming no further interventions.

Meanwhile we are sending out our wide range of books as usual, many on bargain bundle deals as per our adverts and catalogues in BRM and elsewhere.

Fingers crossed for all the retailers being able to keep going as long as possible via online, the key will be how long the delivery carriers can keep going and at what capacity. I have daily updates from France colleagues and we expect non essential fulfillment centres to close within a week as the carriers are not able to collect due to staff absence etc unfortunately.

Ron Lines is open for mail order.

Any emails will be answered as quickly as possible from Annmarie’s dining room/office.

The telephone is on divert to Ron but please only phone during the hours of 1.30pm – 4pm. That way we can both continue to work behind the scenes within the business.

Our online website remains OPEN for business, with all orders over £40 having a free delivery service. Those orders below £40 is a £2 delivery fee

We are making every effort to deliver all orders to your home within 72 hours. All orders place before 11am will be posted the same day, any after 11am will be dispatched the next day. The reasoning for the early time is our local post office is only working as a single person until midday.

Any thoughts on how this will affect publication of the magazines in the short and longer term.?

Regards, Cliff.

I would suggest it's a good time to take out a subscription.  Over the counter sales will decline if people are not going out and as shops close 'for the duration'.

I've had a message from Osborns Models down in Bideford, "we have not got the shop door open obviously but we are still shipping out items at the moment until we are informed otherwise."

Hello everyone. Having spoken to my brother Peter, of Lord and Butler, Cardiff, he has told me that the shop is shut until further notice.

I'll try and keep you updated with developments as they happen.

Stay safe and take care everyone.

We are a small team so have isolation under some degree of control. Following the lockdown announcement we held a video meeting with all staff and everyone has volunteered to continue to keep the mail order going and are not open to visitors. A lot of administration will be done from home keeping the office restricted to dealing with orders, both in and out. We will have to stop if the postal and courier services stop.

Update, we will be a man down from tomorrow for family protection reasons. Some suppliers are now closed including Peco who have an order for us the wrong side of closed doors.

Continuing to try to make sanity out of chaos.

Hi everyone,

Les here from the Model Train Centre in Nelson.

As we are a part of Clarks Hardware, the shop is still open to customers buying essential goods such as Calor gas, keys & locks etc.

The Model Train Centre is still trading by mail order ( ring 01282 601488 ) either delivered or collection,  our ebay shop,  or through our website ;- themodeltraincentre.com

Both myself ( les ) and Anthony are here to help with any queries and packing / deliveries for as long as the post office remain open.

If you want to contact ourselves by email the address is ;- les@themodeltraincentre.com

Thanks

Les

The bigger selling magazines are usually available in major supermarkets while newsagents remain open so you may have one that stocks or could order in, and presumably a number if not all WHS branches are open.

My local big Sainsbury's has the Modeller and Hornby magazine - they used to have BRM, but stopped selling that some time ago (Andy, go and give them a socially distanced good talking to!)

Can they send glues through the post? Forgot to get some last week in Hereford.

I asked Eileen's about this recently (well, more specifically solvents and flux) - Derek replied that they could, but if it was considered 'dangerous' it would have to go by courier rather than mail.

A message from DCC Supplies...

Quote

Further to Monday night's announcement by the Prime Minister, effectively placing the UK in lockdown, we are now operating under a "best efforts" basis until further notice.

Currently although we have the ability to ship orders and workshop jobs , we have reduced our staff and working hours to a bare minimum by operating a shift system ensuring an effective social distancing within our premises. Therefore, delays will be inevitable, as only one member of staff will be working at any one time.

Please be assured that we will continue to offer you our best service under the circumstances and will update you as the situation changes.

SHOP - remains closed to all visitors until further notice

TELEPHONE - reduced hours (off-site) - 10.30am to 12pm Monday - Friday

WORKSHOP - is operating 2 days a week with one Engineer

SHIPPING - orders will be processed and shipped on Mondays and Thursdays

All the DCC Supplies Team wish you the best, keep safe.
