009 micro modeller
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Railway_carriage_as_pedestrian_bridge_in_Akhalkalaki.jpg I came across the photo linked above and was just wondering if anyone could help me to identify whether the coach is a standard design (presumably it’s an old Russian design) and ideally I’m also keen to find some photos of what the same type looked like in service. Thanks, Danny
RMweb Premium zarniwhoop Posted March 29, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 29, 2020 Unsurprisingly, pictures of soviet-era carriages are not widely available online (or if they are, I'm not using the right search arguments). You might try searching at railfaneurope.net (Pictures on top of page, then 'ru' on the flag). Maybe also other ex-soviet countries there. From skimming a few of the russian directories I guess it was a sleeping car (bunks along the coach, not across).
009 micro modeller
Based on the window design and end details this one is quite similar: Although I haven’t managed to find one with a particularly similar roof yet.
Hobby
Seems they have a few spare and not needed on the railways! https://panorama.pub/27081-vagon-zhilie.html

The best bet is to use Translate to let you do your search in the "native" language, then you get a lot more stuff. Where you can get this link after translating "railway passenger coaches" into Russian! http://www.caredenis.ru/resources/techsr/html/les09.html
