At first I thought the "black and tan livery" was a poor taste joke based on Irish revolutionary history. But then I discovered that CIE's livery really was called black and tan.

I think it's our (Irish) self deprecating sense of humour which lead to that being adopted as an official term for the livery!

It doesn't look any worse than the awful Porterbrook Purple Deltic did - and that was real..!!

That's why the test sample uses the Porterbrook one's moulding, to make sure there's one fewer in the world.

Thanks Ben, this was the handy work of @Irish_R_M and in these dark days we felt everyone could do with a chuckle.

We are after getting a good few requests to make it though!

Well done @Accurascale Fran for the Aprils fool joke. This is one that did get me, it wasn't until i seen the headcode, price and limited edition number at the end although when reading I did think that it was using a wrong number as other Deltics were in the D9 range. It took a lot longer than it should have to realise what day it was today.

Samuel.

You know, I'd seriously go for one. Rule 1 and all that.

Love the Deltic class plus CIE liveries circa the 70s / 80s.

And I'm being serious serious, not kidding serious.

I really hate to say it, but you've cocked up.

The real thing in 1959 did not have wipac light clusters.

order canceled, however if you issue one in New York Central grey, with central bonnet headlamp  i’d be very interested.

I once dined at an Irish themed pub in Kennebunkport, Maine.  It was a cheesy place beyond belief and very heavy on its Irishness.  I was a bit surprised to read the menu and discover the “Black and Tan” pie second on the menu.  My wife suggested gently that I didnt ask the bar staff if they knew who the Black and Tans were....
