You're an ideas man Red, what does my coaching stock need to break up all the plain colour? Bearing in mind my layout will be set in the early 60s... Sophia NSE
The coach roof has had a respray in dark grey It went on slightly too thick at the end you can't see but that should be easy enough to fix

Sophia NSE
Not suggest I put the chassis under my Q1. Its a Hornby 14xx this time so I might even put a crew inside the loco!
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted April 19, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 19, 2020 I’ve always liked the 14xx/48xx/58xx The only one I have is the Hatton’s one though not Hornby When I rescued my B set coaches from Ebay I used Halfrauds grey bumper spray paint for the roof (no primer required, one coat and not a bad finish) Took me a while to hand paint the red around the windows though I didn’t do the weathering though, I’m not brave enough to weather locos and rolling stock yet, I’m only just getting the hang of weathering buildings

Sophia NSE
It's been a bit quiet at Tovil Works this week while waiting for the new 14xx to arrive, though the first goods stock has arrived A Dapol 12 ton van for less than the price of a pint. Its missing a couple of buffers so I need a replacement set. That Hornby 4 wheel coach seems to sit far too high compared to everything else for my liking
