manna
G'Day Folks Quite possible to make a GBL C1 mobile, using a early Triang 0-6-0 chassis, I fitted later type wheels to mine, but you have to use the original coupling rods (Doctored), a lot has to be cut off the chassis, and I fitted a smaller motor (xo4 won't fit) manna

In fact, speak of the devil... Ordered on Thursday, arrived just now. Why can't buying on eBay always be this hassle free? Unboxed but came with the destruction sheet for under 20 notes
Artless Bodger
If you need the extra height in the tender (it's a pancake motor isn't it?), some C's had tenders with coal raves, there's a photo of one at East Farleigh in the Middleton Press book Strood to Paddock Wood - 31716.
RMweb Gold BlueLightning Posted July 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2021 I managed to disguise mine with a large coal load, I'll have to dig it out and take a photo

RMweb Premium uax6 Posted July 17, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 17, 2021 And if you don't like having plastic wheels on your layout, you can fit the loco drive Hornby 4F tender wheels... You have to file off the wheel part of the plastic axle, so that you are left with just the gear wheel, but you can then fit it to your metal tender wheel and Robert is your Mothers Brother.... Sophia NSE
After opening that can of worms, I've actually done some modelling today and done some detailing on the Q1 Pipes and cosmetic hooks have been added. I also added front sanding pipes but these don't show up in pictures. Not much else left other than adding a crew and an extra screw to keep the body and chassis together
Sophia NSE
Yesterday afternoon/evening was spent building the bridge for my diorama. It's held together with PVA glue, tape, and a lot of hope Also the final part of my new project arrived today. Good thing I bought more paint for the lining while on my way home from work!

Some of the screws are a bit tough to remove though
