..........with Percy Thrower potting something;

Now there's a memory. I've got a lot of his books. From the days when men gardened in tweed jackets, shirt and tie and wellington boots whatever the time of year!

Anybody remember BBC's 'Gardening Club'?

I had to go digging to find out it was six years ago when we had the best Saturday ever on the WSR thanks to @Captain Kernow and his wonderful organisational skills.

Looking back I see I was years ahead on the Baby Shark craze.

Just back from a short trip over the border into Dorset to deliver essential supplies to my sister and pick up a consignment of gluten free cakes - now in the freezer......well except for the sponge!

Ah! The summer of '76 and water rationing. Invention was the order of the day to keep one's small  shoots hydrated.

I'm glad to see that you haven't (not) bought any of those diabolical things sold as 'pasties' at Bishops Lydeard 'refreshment' outlet.   Not only dd they contain carrot but they also contained peas - a double hanging offence for the perpetrator who needed prosecution under the Trades Description Act.

BTW what is that funny bit of wood in the box of chips - some sort of modelling raw material such as a sort of craftsman (crafty?) kit for 7mm scale sleepers?

I believe it is used for sticking between the ribs of those chums who are a bit recalcitrant about buying their round. Once they do so it is removed. According to Sellars & Yeatman in "1066 And All That", this is the original derivation of the expression "fork out".

Maybe it's to fend off the ravenous seagulls?*

So guys; how's it all going?

Albion Yard possibly proving a bigger challenge to get back together than I earlier thought. Hoping the van has a DPF that’s clean this time though.

Serious head on.

A friend uses some sort of magnetic couplings on his 0 gauge layout - I can't remember the name. Thoes forky wooden thingies are ideal for pressing down on the magnets and so holding them apart when uncoupling stock.

Jen lost half a crab sandwich to a Dartmouth based gull. I can't see that it flew from Whiby just to annoy her intensely. It was also an over the shoulder attack from behind.

I’m afraid we have a slight problem that has prevented the layout being packed to travel.

No-one has told Pandora that the layout is called Catspaw, not Catbed
