The run-up to the Virtual Members' Day

Mike,

I think not having a Module layout this year was good planning, I think running a train out of the fiddle yard, across the first module, then picking the train up, getting in the car, driving to the next module owner, leaving the train 2m from the door, then the next member collecting the train, running it through their module, then picking the train up, getting in the car, driving to the next module owner, leaving the train 2m from the door, and so on, might have been even more frustrating than the usual set up.

The one involving a pasty, cake and one of Black Rat's shirts?

Can't say anything about it, much too secret...

Although that ceremony is infinitely preferable to the previous one which just involved parsnips :o

Just a thought, for those members so privileged to live within the realms of SWAG, will they be entered into the group with the initiation ceremony?

Dunno what you're talking about, just don't go into the Gentlemans Room prior.....

I'm busy not charging up the scores of batteries for my camera gear for a weekend on the road, I'll not be chucking in the drone to get some footage of gala trains on the WSR. There's so much not to have to think of when planning a busy weekend's activities. I'm sure I'll forget not to pack something.

Is this a new kind of weathering liquid that those military modellers use?

Yes, it's alcohol based. Only to be applied in small quantites. It has to last me all weekend, after all.

I'll have to see if I can arrange a comparison with acrylics and solvents. It may take some time . . . . . . . .

Oh neat; you're setting the layout up in your car, Phil?!

That's a good idea! Hold on, we don't actually own that car that I'm not bringing to the show that isn't happening any more... (Confused face)

Oh (not an RMweb word) I don't have any bright coloured outlandish shirts does that mean I am bared.

Any shirt is preferable to being bared!

Pasty supplies

I know people are worried about the pasties, so Justin from ModelRailwayScenery has suggested a couple of suppliers who will post the food:

https://www.cornishpod.co.uk/

https://www.choakspasties.co.uk/

So it you'd like to get your orders in a week ago, all will be fine.

Today, I be mostly building Parkside kits.

If it's not too early, that is?

Al.

I don't think you'll get far, the will seems to have gone out of it!

I understand that once you've consumed that lot your camouflage painting is particularly effective and that you cannot pick out the model against the background.

He wouldn't be accepted, the shirt is too plain.

Jim Barry does some good stuff. His Clare Valley Rieslings are very satisfying.

I like the label on the Portuguese one too.
