RMweb Gold BoD Posted April 18, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 18, 2020 I have often wondered if it would be possible to arrange a holiday ‘down there’ and gatecrash the SWAG do. Perhaps this is the year that I get to not do it. 6

Sorry, fair cop (I started it)! Serious point, as this is a fund-raiser, I shared the idea for the event with members of the family and they think it’s a great idea.
RMweb Premium DLT Posted April 19, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 19, 2020 Hi Guys, This sounds like a brilliant event, and I've come a bit late to it. Is there a description somewhere of how to take part, or what sort of software/apps I need? Thanks very much, Dave. 1

Just pack up the virtual layout, save some petrol money and virtually show one of your layouts off with pics or video in the topic I'll open up on the Sunday morning. There will be a separate topic set up for the Sunday for the virtual demos and off we go. 1
RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted April 19, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 19, 2020 I look forward to virtually attending as to keep my 100% Attendance record up. Due to space in my Broadband I could virtually visit with a couple of layouts and quite a bit of stock..
RMweb Gold tomparryharry Posted April 19, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 19, 2020 having made the real trip a couple of times, I'll try to bring along some 'Work in Progress'. Having the real 'Work in Progress' it'll make a change. This will mean that 'Work in Progress' will make a virgin trip down the stairs in 5 years. I might bring along Mrs. Smiths' supercharged whisky Christmas cake. Subject to negotiation, of course. Parking here is pretty good on a Sunday, but only after 10am Being a complete, 5-star internet Klutz, this will be interesting. Strangely, I'm looking forward to it. keep safe, everyone, Ian.

I think there'll be space in the car park this year Steve but I've had a better idea; you can run the shuttle service from Taunton Station for those not coming. 2 1 1 10
RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted April 20, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20, 2020 I would normally come along with Raymond and James but this year they will have to make their own way there. 2

RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted April 20, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20, 2020 I was looking for old photos of the setting up the hall from previous years (so we'll know what doesn't need doing this year) and feel I've been hacked by Black Rat... The beer & chips image was also part of the preparations last year by a couple of the exhibitors - this session was closely followed by a visit to the tap house at BL and then the Lethbridge Arms... 2 1 8

RMweb Gold Popular Post Stubby47 Posted April 20, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 20, 2020 Some administrative notes for this year's event: Name badges Name badges will not be provided this year, you are of course at liberty to make your own and wear / display as you feel necessary, so those around you know who you are. Pasty vouchers These will not be provided this year. Following complaints by the celebrated icon on the pasty voucher, to whit that the image should be removed and the whole voucher updated, it was decided to cancel the whole Member's Day event and blame it on the Covid-19 virus. Floor plan. As both 2018 and 2019 last year's floor plans were completely disregarded by some (mentioning no names but he ended up being interviewed first by Mr 'Where's My Cake' Parker), this year you can make your own decision as you where you stick your layout/demo/trade stand/whatever and best of luck with it. And you can provide your own power supply too. Car parking. In order to provide room for some of the larger exhibits, please park responsibly. In your own driveway, if possible. Please do not expect to claim any expenses for any parking fees thus accumulated. Expenses in general. We are pleased to be able to provide travel & accommodation expenses to the same level as last year, claims to be made on the back of a £20 and posted to Cornwall. Beer expenses will not be considered. Cake expenses will just be laughed at. Setting up. Please do not turn up at the hall before 2021. Remember the doors open at 10:00 and you've had ample time to get things ready. You've only yourself to blame if you've not finished / started your fiddle yard. Other items may be added to this list, please feel free to contribute. 3 1 5 2
