Black5
I have a Jamieson Nickel silver kit that I need to paint. I take it I would need a primer coat and wondered if an ordinary automotive rattle can type would be good enough or would something more specific be required? As I don`t have a spray booth at the moment I will need to wait for some decent weather to do it outside when I would be able to use my spray gun for final colour. Many thanks, Jim. michl080
Jim, priming nickel silver is easy. Paint holds much better than on brass. But then, I assume, your kit has brass and nickel silver parts, so you should use etch primer on the brass parts. If you do so, why not painting everything with etch primer. Black5
Hi Michael, Thank you for your reply. You`re correct in saying there maybe brass parts in the model, mainly because I had to detail it myself ( as it was only a basic parts kit ) and I`m pretty sure I used brass when I couldn`t get nickel silver. So, I will look for an etch primer in due course. Many thanks, Jim.
