rhysnationalexpress
The new buffet car awaits Transfers, I’ve put them both together as a colour comparison, the buffet car without transfers is the official Anglia railways turquoise livery, Phoenix Paints is the other provider
rhysnationalexpress
Stock counting, three sets nearly completed .... Just waiting on Transfers for the sprayed sets, does anyone on here know the best match for the roofs of the Hornby coaches?, There is so many greys but I need to do another DBSO and A buffet car to finish set off ... Would be greatly appreciated Rhys
Satan's Goldfish
In the real world, roofs were not always the same colour on stock depending on when it was last painted, washed, etc. However, I used 'roof dirt' for a lot of my resprays, can't remember if it was rail match or humbrol, and that was a nice generic dirty grey that matches most things quite well and there's no noticeable difference between my Hornby Anglia mk2s and the resprayed and vinyled mk3 buffet. 1
rhysnationalexpress
Thanks mate .... it just bugs the life out of me with my Hornby set .... the DBSO Is significantly lighter on top then the rest that’s all

Didn't take many pics that day ! Cheers, Phil. that last picture is of a mk3B, not a mk3A, the noticable difference being the HST style vents. this can be done with just a normal Hornby model, or you can do what im doing and swap them onto an oxford model to give a reasonable representation. Mackenzie Another give away for a Mk3B is the small in built tail lights. Only Mk3Bs & Sleepers had these.

BelsteadLane
All looking very nice - you reacted to me comment on Squirrel rails thread and your name made we think I better check you out. Lots and lots of Anglia Railways, love it! Nice to see another Anglian modeller. I’m a bit more modern then you though! Will be watching this thread with great interest and inspiration for when I backdate to the Anglia/One transition era. And thanks for the kind words! I do wish I modelled 2004-2007 though rather than more recent years. The One/Anglia transition era was very interesting and is my favourite ‘TOC era.’ The next layout will be more focused around this era but I’ll still keep my Abellio stuff. Satan's Goldfish
You must have completely cornered the market on Anglia mk2s by now, can't be many more left out there I might have missed it, but do you plan on doing some 8 window 2nd class resprays to make your rakes accurate?
