RMweb Gold Popular Post craigowen1976 Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) Excuse the very late entry... we've been avidly not setting up outside the exhibition hall, in the hope of being able to offer the exclusive first of a garden railway in action (not) live and (not) onsite. Now let's see if it stays working as the folks come in... Despite a 'hand of God' in the 1st few seconds, and some juddery running from kitbuilds, glad to report alot less derailments than usual... (tho saying that should a jinxed it). Open to requests for running sessions featuring other eras / rolling stock...! Tho gonna have a quick look around and leave you guys to play. No pileups, ok? RMweb Premium Popular Post St Enodoc Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 It's been a fun few hours but exhibitions are very tiring so, as Zebedee would say, it's time for bed. Enjoy the rest of the day and I'll catch up with the aftermath tomorrow. Good night children, everywhere. 10

RMweb Premium Popular Post PMP Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 With the exception of a few locomotives all the motive power reflected steam that was seen in the Forest of Dean from the 1950's through to close of play. 43

Popular Post TEAMYAKIMA
We actually don't normally do one day shows, but made an exception for today's event. The layout will be much improved by our next REAL exhibition as we know what we need to do to reach a wider audience beyond the very niche market of Chinese railway enthusiasts. Therefore as soon as we get the layout home we will be making BIG improvements to what you see today. If any of you want to see more of BEIJIAO please look for our layout thread on RMweb or come and see us at various shows around the country - more show invites welcome! BTW here is a photo Andrew Burnham (editor of Continental Modeller) took earlier today...
Popular Post Liam
So here's a few photos of my roundy roundy. I'll have to upload them in a couple of posts. An LMS 'Royal Scot' and GWR '8750' simmer on shed. A class 20 prepares to depart the goods siding with a short goods train. The P-Way gang take a quick break and speculate whether this EWS hopper will ever be operational again.

Cheers Mick, yes 'Stepney' has been nicely weathered (though the credit for that goes to TMC in this particular case!). But after your fantastic weathering course in Pendon (big plug, to anybody who's happens to be listening in...), I had a good go on several of my BR Western Region models - this running session features several post-Pendon weatherings, 'Oakley Hall', 42xx, 43xx, 45xx. I'm not quite brave enough just yet to let my paintbrush loose on an elaborate pre-grouping livery... but nearly. A big thankyou for your tutoring! ;-) For others just popping heads out into the 'garden railway' display area - we've moved on from the earlier LBSCR pre-grouping stock, now showing BR 1950s: Edited April 26, 2020 by craigowen1976

RMweb Premium Popular Post Mark Forrest Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 Manifold Valley Minerals One of the jobs I've been getting on with (between cups of tea and slices of cake) has been to consider where on the layout I need to place uncoupling magnets and work out how many I need. With the LNWR tank currently standing in for the quarry engine, we start by propelling a cut of loaded wagons up the bank: Dropping them off in the headshunt (that's the first magnet position identified): The loco then goes off to collect some empties from the sidings: Running over the double slip to drop these in the loop (that'll be another magnet then) the loco can then head back to collect the loaded wagons from the headshunt: Drawing the loaded wagons out from the headshunt, past the empties in the loop: Before dropping them off in the siding (magnet): And we're almost ready to head off back to the quarry with the empties, just got to cross over on that double slip again and set back with the empties to clear to point leading to the quarry branch: And we're off (should we have a brake van?): 19 2
