RMweb Premium Popular Post PMP Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 ALBION YARD A key thing for me was that the views from the camera could be replicated by someone either operator or viewer in front of the layout, When first exhibited it was unusual in that it had the first full wrap round digital print backscene, it was high, operated from the front, 55" track level, had full enclosed lighting and deliberately constrained the viewing points with the proscenium arch and intentional view blocking. Some viewers just didn't understand the 'presentation' element of the layout, which was interesting in its own right. The trees played a big part in the visual breaks, developing a new technique to give a transparency that was plausible. 24 1

Nice work on the buildings. Not much sign of the sheep though. In the forest they used to leave the truckles all over the pavements. Look forward to seeing this whenever. Popular Post Liam
I would just like to say that I am honoured to be showing my work alongside that of so many talented modellers. Popular Post 10800
Re6/6 and I have spent the last week converting Balcombe from P4 to 2mmFS so it would fit in the 40 tonne artic that is now not parked outside. We should be able to receive visitors shortly but even at this size it's a bit of a squeeze. 38

RMweb Premium Popular Post PMP Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) ALBION YARD This is the sort of view that was available through the foreground trees, they deliberately forced the viewer to look through, and around them. Some visitors still didn't understand it, their primary focus being the locos and rolling stock. Edited April 26, 2020 by PMP 23

Popular Post 10800
I also managed to get my H0 French layout 'St Martin-sur-Orb' into the cab of the artic (so John couldn't lie down for a nap en route). This will have some weird catenary and some weird signals when finished. I was hoping to finish this afternoon but if not Stu has invited it to next year's show (in whatever form that takes). Anyone got a 1:87 Maigret figure? 33
