Moderators Popular Post AY Mod Posted April 25, 2020 Moderators Popular Post Share Posted April 25, 2020 To continue with tradition we visit the Taunton MRG's clubroom on the down platform at Bishops Lydeard station at the end of running on the West Somerset Railway for the day. It's always a useful time and place for everyone to regroup after the day's travel and activities before heading to the Lethbridge Arms in the village for sinner and drinks. This year is a little different in that we have a pub quiz planned for 8pm which you can take part in wherever you are in the world. Even better. Anyway, the club's magnificent Bath Green Park layout. It's a different form at home from when at exhibitions. 27 3

Moderators AY Mod Posted April 25, 2020 Author Moderators Share Posted April 25, 2020 After a lovely spring day not at the West Somerset Railway Spring Gala a few of us have not arrived early at Bishops Lydeard and we are now in the platform clubrooms grabbing a cup of tea before watching the last arrivals and departures of the day. Well some of us are here, at least two people were seen heading off the other way to a building that has a sign saying Quantock Brewery. I wonder who they could be? 3

RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 25, 2020 Don’t forget to pop out onto the platform to see the last train of the day arriving from Minehead.
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25, 2020 Having visited Bishops Lydeard quite a bit over the years I nipped in to see Bath Green Park as often as I could during those visits. It still ranks as one of my all time favourite layouts. Even allowing for my allegiance to the dear old S&DJR {Dofts cap and utters 'God bless the S&D'} it is truly sublime. Thanks for the photos, Andy. Rob. 2 1

RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted April 26, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 26, 2020 I remember seeing Tamerig in the Model Railway Constructor as a teenager c. 1980. There can't be many club layouts that have been kept going for over 40 years.
