RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 25, 2020 Hello Apologies if this has been asked as the forum search function seems to be on the blink, does anyone know what the origins are of the Farish Scenecraft 42-176 stone signal box please? I am wondering with its light blue window frames if I can get away with it in a remote Scottish setting...
RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25, 2020 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_boxes_that_are_listed_buildings_in_Scotland. Gives an over view of signal boxes and while the hipped roof common no stone one. however: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_boxes_that_are_listed_buildings_in_England, check Arnside box and it looks, even to the finials to have been the inspiration. I have twice asked PECO about an N version of the Highland timber signal cabin done in OO but to no precise answer either way. Also asked Severn Models to consider and etched version - this we talked about at Leamington club show and some research done so perhaps that way in time.
