Hope these help.

I have messed about with the exposure to bring out the details for you.

Not wishing to teach you to suck eggs, but some miss the diffing spacing on the roof vents between the Epb and the narrow Hastings stock.

Note also the selection of vents on the Hastings coaches.

The other side of the Motor underframe is the same as any other short Hastings.

Best of luck.

I am saving your incredibly useful photos to assist me with finishing off my own three-quarters finished tadpole (from DC Kits).

Is that a tumble home I see on both coaches. I believe the sides should be flat for the two ex Hastings coaches.

Keith

Hard to believe I know, but I was actually aware that the Hastings coaches had flat sides.  Unfortunately Mr. MTK does not appear to have been as aware and so I am using filler and sanding to correct things as best as is practicable.  Some more filling and sanding is required near the cab.

Guys.

This may help a little.

Here is a sketch I made of measurements I took on a 2H.

Things to note are: The size of the Driver's Door. Very few get this right, the roof panel and exhaust port are likely to be the same on Hastings as they would have needed to lift out the same engines.

So, as I said. It MAY help and may also throw some light on what is where along with the photos.

Good luck.

You’ve certainly found (created) a crispness that wasn’t there before. and I look forward to seeing it when it’s finished but I guess there’s a way to go yet.

All the best. Keep safe.

Thanks Steve and Griff.  The worst of the grunt work is over I think, but I still need to make the interiors.

As for the EPB driving trailer; I have a Bachmann chassis obtained from eBay a couple of years ago and have just purchased a spare body to go with it.  It was a tad expensive but better (and still cheaper) than scavenging a complete and perfectly good Bachmann EPB.

Cheers

Great work as ever and the pics will be useful as well. It was good to see 1202 stared as I had intended to do my 3mm version in green and the roof shows a mix of vents, this will add a variation.

Looking forward to this noe.

thanks

Next stage will be window glazing and curtains followed by the coach interiors.

The green EPB DTS body has arrived and is in the process of being re-sprayed into rail blue.

The centre coach is from a 6L really you need one from a 6S.

You could actually get away with either.  As originally formed the Tadpoles used all 'short' vehicles, but from 1979 onward there was some mixing up and some Tadpoles had an ex 6L vehicle.

1202 and 1204 (briefly) had a 'long' centre trailer, and 1206 had a 'long' motor car.  There's lots of formation detail on 'Blood and Custard'

Best regards

That's come along really well.  I built an MTK Tadpole about 30 years ago from a 'Converta-pak' - these were just sides and ends that you fitted to a donor vehicle.  It came out ok and I still have it - if I can dig it out I'll post some pictures.  Not as good as your effort though.

Thanks Bob and Stuart.  I have a couple of Southern Pride AM10 kits on the stash along with a 3D, complete with the dummy engine.   Due to the electric motor bogie taking up some of the space it isn’t possible to fit a dummy engine alas.

Cheers

The curtains were made from tissue paper taped to a frame and sprayed with orange enamel followed by a coat of acrylic varnish.  Once dry, individual curtains are cut to shape and fixed in place behind the windows.

Interiors still to be constructed.

Thanks Pete,

I have some Replica bits and bobs on the way to complete the EPB interior so I will create the luggage area.  Was the rest of the EPB open seating or closed compartments?

Cheers

Darius

PS great work on your Tadpole!!!  (How many times do you get to make that statement).

The four bays nearest the cab were open seating. Then the next two bays are compartments, followed by the last three bays being an open luggage area.

They kept this arrangement when they were used as the centre cars for the 3T units.
