New Hornby 27t iron ore tippler

Recommended Posts

Hi all. After receiving my weekly newsletter email from model railways direct I noticed the new Hornby 27t iron ore tippler, product number R6966. They’re marked up as MSV wagons, but I can’t see any vac cylinders etc on the underframe. Are these labelled wrong and should be marked as unfitted MSO wagons?

Cheers.

Looks as though they've simply reliveried their existing MSO model, retaining the double brake gear. The MSV had a slightly lower body and 8-shoe BR 'lifting Link' brake gear.

So would these Hornby wagons be suitable to repurpose as ZKO engineers wagons?

looking at your brilliant website @hmrspaul the majority of the ZKO’s pictures have roller bearings, would this be the only major alteration required?

Thanks for the replies.
