Clagsniffer
Hi all. After receiving my weekly newsletter email from model railways direct I noticed the new Hornby 27t iron ore tippler, product number R6966. They’re marked up as MSV wagons, but I can’t see any vac cylinders etc on the underframe. Are these labelled wrong and should be marked as unfitted MSO wagons? https://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/rolling-stock-freight/Hornby-r6966-br-27t-msv-iron-ore-tippler-7663-era-7/ Cheers. Looks as though they've simply reliveried their existing MSO model, retaining the double brake gear. The MSV had a slightly lower body and 8-shoe BR 'lifting Link' brake gear.
Yardman
It has the empty/loaded changeover markings and nothing else. The underframe looks completely wrong.
hmrspaul
Judge for yourselves https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/ironoretipplermsv/e32a0c3c8 Please note I have nothing to do with this model; and it does upset me a bit when such a parody is based on my photos. Clagsniffer
So would these Hornby wagons be suitable to repurpose as ZKO engineers wagons? looking at your brilliant website @hmrspaul the majority of the ZKO’s pictures have roller bearings, would this be the only major alteration required? Thanks for the replies.
