RMweb Premium newbryford Posted March 18, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 18, 2019 (edited) A mixed rake of PCS and Hanson JPAs has turned up for a couple of days on 6M90/6V35 Clitheroe-Avonmouth. There;s a been a shortage of JPAs as they have suffered severe wheel flats recently. They have also been receiving extra VTG safety markings, I'm hoping to get a clearer shot and have some decals made. Ta to SM for the PCA pics Cheers, Mick Edited March 18, 2019 by newbryford
Steadfast
Ahhh the comical egg. I'd not seen them on any non Mendip traffic. Were any eggs harmed in the making of the artwork or is it CGI? Jo

RMweb Gold Popular Post Accurascale Fran Posted March 21, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 21, 2019 No sooner had we finished packing up the PCV Cemflo orders (there were many, many preorders and took longer than expected!) did we hear from China that the PCAs will be with us here in 2 weeks time. So, they will be with customers the week after! Hopefully this 'cements' our reputation in the British market somewhat.... (sorry!) 16 1
JSpencer
Great stuff, but to truly cement your reputation, we need all new vee tanks and PDAs. The Lima tooling is long in the tooth and we just know you will get them right. Strangely I have never found a photo of these PCAs with the more numerous vee tanks (though the odd Bachmann style PCA did appear with yours from time to time). Southernman46
Oh Crikey - already !! ........................... No pocket money or food for the kids next week then ................ Yup - agree with the PDA (APCM 95xx variety) comment above ..............think you'd sell more than a few Edited March 21, 2019 by Southernman46
westie7
In all seriousness if you want to continue the cement theme, BAHS Alcan PCAs are a big void
dave56
I really could not resist some of these PCA's, pre ordered today. The way things are going accurascale are going cost me a fortune. Edited March 22, 2019 by dave56 1

RMweb Gold TravisM Posted March 26, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2019 Not sure if it’s been asked already but after the PCV’s and PCA’s, will the JPA’s be next cement wagon?
tommyboy
the ones at Mossend were sent up to cover for JPAs which were under repair or maintenance. They were returned south after discharge but I believe this is not the only time they have been up to Peter D. Stirlings yard

What about the Bachmann model? Would seem an odd choice to duplicate when there are so many other prototypes left to be modelled. High on my list are the Powell Duffryn PXA steel wagons operated out of South Wales. Interesting prototype and you don't have to have a huge rake, often ran with 1 or 2 to Hamworthy. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/pdufcoilpxa Hopefully someone will do them one day...
RMweb Gold Accurascale Fran Posted March 27, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 27, 2019 JPAs arent on our radar. Anyway, I think we need to make something other than cement wagons. considering we've done 3 if you include our Irish one! Cheers, Fran
eastwestdivide
A few shots of mine from early in their careers. 10607 (I think) at Leicester in May 1983 at the back of a train of Ketton PCAs (the fading yellow is great!) 74040 at Strood in 1985, heading for Rugby's works at Halling: And a Sulfacrete one, 10620, at Hoo Junction in the trip working from Swanscombe between a Blue Circle 'V' PCA to the right and another STS example to the left. The sun's very low and a bit yellowy I think, but it does show the darker grey compared to the one on the right. 2

I’m still new to modern UK modelling, especially wagons and I wasn’t aware of the Bachmann model. Thanks for the information and I’ll have to research the Bachmann model.
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted March 27, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 27, 2019 If it's anything like the N gauge one they're hard to get hold of now and command quite the premium, but they are a superb model.

The Castle ones go for silly money, compared with the original RRP. Cheers, Mick
