Got an email this morning, these are now low on stock, again if you have not indulged, now is the time

So hard to choose the best Accurascale wagon, again these are up there :)

Indeed we are almost completely sold out of Rugby and STS grey PCAs. Thank you to everyone who bought some!

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

KINGS OF THE CASTLE; PCA PROGRESS REPORT!

Decorated samples of our forthcoming PCA wagons in original and current Castle Cement liveries have arrived and very good they look too.

We have now assessed these livery samples, offered feedback to the factory and they will now enter production with a delivery date of Q2 2022.

With over 50% of the production run already pre-ordered they are sure proving popular! Pre-order your packs of three wagons for £74.95 per pack via your local stockist, or direct via Accurascale! Order here: https://accurascale.co.uk/collections/pca-bulk-cement-wagon

Cheers!

Hi Fran,

Is there a route map for these? I like the idea of having a rake but would need to justify it running through an area I want to model, to move it up the list of potential purchases! Or did they only turn up on the two workings mentioned on the description?

Still tempting just to have a long rake of them if that is the case...

they had a rake of 6 run away from the loading facility at Clitheroe so that may well be correct. I don't know.

Only 1 ran away.

Chris, there's a short rake that works from Clitheroe to Bristol docks and back.

6M90/6V84 usually runs as mixed rake of PCAs (15/16) and the later JPAs (4/5). Although these are in Hanson livery and do have a couple of different details from the Bachmann models.

66721 - 6M90 (Bamber Bridge).

You could have a single PCA. (This is the wagon that ran away!)

Note: to be really up to date, the fleet received VTG "safety egg" stickers in 2019.

Seen here on 10619 (decals available from Railtec).

yes you are correct.https://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/documents/RAIB_Clitheroe2020.pdf has pictures in it showing it as a single wagon. I was misled by the wording into believing a whole set had 'escaped'.

These are looking really good, looking forward to them. Can anyone share or direct me to some reference photos or videos of the wagons in their original Castle livery?  I’m drawing a blank….! What sort of traction would be suitable for use with them?

31 / 56 / 58 / 60

a search on Flickr for “6M93 Ketton” will give you a few ideas

Like this pure filth!

D5564 + D5531 / 31146 + 31113 on the outskirts of Peterborough on 03/04/98 with 6M93 Kings Cross to Ketton

Have seen pairs of 37s too!

Cheers!

From my EWS loco controller days I think I even managed to kick out a 47 every now and then too Fran

job was a lot of fun then before the whole scale introduction of 66’s

Excellent, Eric! I do recall seeing a good few 58s around that time on them at their destination, more so than other traction for the few summer weeks I would be in the area each year around then.

Cheers,
