Sandboxes for Comet chassis

I require sandboxes to complete several Comet chassis. I don't know why they where never included in the kits?
 

Preferably whitemetal or even lost wax so that they can be soldered on.
 

Could someone point me in the right direction of a supplier for these locos please...

If you can't find any, I normally make my own, by laminating sufficient thicknesses of plasticard and cutting and filing to shape, using drawings (if available) and photos as a reference.

 

Obviously, plasticard ones wouldn't take too well to being soldered, but there is two-part epoxy.

AGW do a good range of loco accessories

I think they expected you to make your own or use the ones already on the RTR model you were improving.

 

Comet/Wizard do the fillers, and a pair of Stanier sandboxes which I think came from kits.

 

LS38    Sandbox fillers x 8 w/m

LS42    Stanier sandboxes w/m pair

 

Maybe try South Eastern Finecast. They do a J39 kit and will sell parts separately.
