Scotland_buses87
Can you use plaster on cardboard for the road?
Guest Half-full
I wouldnt think so, unless the cardboard was fully sealed, and fully supported along its length and width
doilum
It depends on the plaster and cardboard. The main risk is a hard surface that can be easily punctured by impact, or that contracts as the board dries out or is subject to temperature change. Any type of corrugation or double skin will be prone. On Houghton Street the road surfaces were formed from "solid" 2mm recycled card as I wanted to create the camber and gutters. This was then "painted" with a mix of pollyfilla, PVA and Wickes matchpot paint. Once dry, it was repainted with PVA and a top dressing applied. Five years on there have been no issues despite less than perfect storage in the garage. Gordon Gravett's books were the main source of information. Buggleskelly1937
Hi, I used a slightly watered down Polyfilla mixed with a drop of black paint for my roads. They still need to be weathered but the texture works well for an old country lane.
