Wingman Mothergoose
I’ve decided to build a single track traverser at the end of my fiddle yard, to run my locos round their trains without having to physically remove them from the layout. The only snag is I have no idea how to build a traverser! Any help you guys can give would be fantastic!

The exact design and construction may depend a bit on the way that you have constructed the fiddleyard. So a picture of that may help us. Worth mentioning that some of the lasercut baseboard kit manufacturers do traversers.

Hope this helps. * overall width of loco lift is 2 1/4" Regards. John Edited May 13, 2020 by irishmail

Flying lead to power the track and brass wire and tube alignment. Slide the cassette to selected track push the pins into the tube, drive on, move repeat, drive off. RMweb Gold Ian Simpson Posted May 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 13, 2020 I think loco lifts are a great idea - just a bit expensive if you are buying several of them. My design for a simple, very low-tech traverser:

AndyB
As an alternative, could you use a RTP turntable and just curl the various tracks in to suit?
