Popular Post Jack785
My entry for the @traincrashpod (train crash podcast - thread on here by OliverRowley) A4 Diorama competition - "The Ginnel" is a working diorama based on the short preserved section of the Leiston Works Railway in Suffolk, which reopened last summer with the visit of a Ruston 48DS. I've tried to recreate the atmosphere of the prototype which runs down an alleyway. I've tested out some new scenic techniques with this one, namely making hedges using scouring pads, a patio and sleeper spacing. The railway is built on the premise that the town museum to the right of the scene has loaned a strip of land to a local preservation society to run their loco, while the museum grounds are hosting a display of vintage commercial vehicles, which acts as a great excuse to display some of the various diecast models I've collected! The running fleet comprises a single Hornby Ruston, which as per the prototype has been the only class of loco to run on the railway in preservation.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any kits available.
Ben B
I love this, you've really captured the atmosphere of the Leiston Works Railway! Ever since I saw it on the Lawrie vid, I've thought it a characterful little bit of track, and you've nailed it with the line squeezed between the wall and the garden. Are you thinking of doing a larger layout based on the prototype?
