Hornby R2804XS (Black 5)

Hello folks, can anyone please tell me sound chip is fitted to this model?

If this is the original Hornby sound fitted Black 5 - I think it has an ESU Locksound 3.5 decoder fitted.  I used to have one.  I know Hornby also started using Loksound V4 decoders on some later sound fitted locos ,  not sure if this included later releases of the Black 5

R2804XS  44875 has a V3.5 fitted

R2995XS  45010 has a V4.0 fitted 

Unsure of any other examples.

If you can see the speaker it will confirm. 3.5 has a 100 ohm and 4.0 has a 4/8 ohm (can never remember which 4 or 8).

It make no difference, bot 8Ohms & 4Ohms will work.    4Ohms should be louder but you must have a airtight sound chamber behind the speaker to work properely.

I was asking because I don't have the model, but was wondering whether to take someone up on an 'offer to buy'
