I have seen a couple of clips from long ago RMweb of someone who did some superb conversions using Hornby PGA frames, they were excellent and clearly a labour of love, however I too would like RTR versions, Kernow are staying tight lipped at present, but watch this space.

3 or 4 would be nice.

Some or those ECC blue tanks would be nice as well.

I remember Triang-Hornby issuing a model of the ECC slurry tank, at about the same time the prototype was delivered. It bore a passing resemblance to the real thing; well, the colour was pretty close...

Like these I covered from some tank wagons a few years ago

Yes please!

oddly enough, I had a conversation with a mate the other day about these and the conversion possibilities using a Hornby PGA. A RTR one would obviously be better.

If you would like a try I still have the bits

Just been looking at Kernow's Facebook page, but I don't think it means anything but the picture posted yesterday just happens to show a 47 with 2 PRA wagons (already done) and 2 PAA wagons.

This the link to smugmug page the picture is from.

Is there any reason to believe that these might be on the cards? There were only 9 of these wagons so even fewer examples existed than the PRA (Fleet total 14) but the way both types were operated was very similar. Because of that, if I were in the business of making model wagons, I would surmise that if the PRA sold well, so would the PAA.

No reason other than I model China Clay and they existed for a pretty specialised service. But I agree there is no reason to suppose Kernow would make them other than they do serve the China Clay modeller very well. The only reason I say they are staying tight lipped is because of a comment they made when I enquired if they were a possibility and they did not dismiss my enquiry out of hand. I am hoping they would become a reality to add to the fleet of wagons that operated China Clay traffic.

I would love a few of these, I used to watch the 08 trip 2 or3 these from Thornton yard to Markinch with a brake van and run round before heading down the Auchmuty branch. For a while the provincial liveried 08761 was based at Thornton making it quiet a colourful train now if only someone would also do a model of that to pull these I could pretend to be a teenager again!

I did raise the subject with Kernow when I took delivery of my PRAs. I didn't get told where to go!

If you have a look at what's available out of what's needed to model that area and traffic, then this is a no brainer.

Could I put in a bid for both please - a couple of PAAs and the Bowood tanks....

Incidentally there are livery versions  as one PAA (12800) had no Tullis Russel branding but "Tiger" in its place (left aligned) by 1990 and is pictured on p656 of October 2005 issue of Railway Modeller.

Bowood tanks look great weathered and there is the later livery version of STS blue as per picture on p22 of David Radcliffe's book "Private Owner wagons in colour for the modeller and historian."  That picture also shows the wagons on a speedlink working from Quidhampton travelling through Westbury, Wilts.

As I said,  I'd certainly be after a couple of each of these types of Wagons (actually at least 2 each of both the Bowood and the STS liveried tanks) ...preferably weathered to the wonderful standards shown by Kernow's previous limited editions...

Huge thanks in hopeful anticipation...though the moths are already looking worried at being disturbed as i count the pennys...:o
