mac1960
I need to curve some back scene material on which to place the painted back scene. I am told there is a material that you can bend to curve required and then wet it and it retains its shape when dried, and will not change back even if slightly damp. Unfortunately the person telling me about this did not know the name of it. Does anyone know of such a type of sheet material, as I have tried Google with out success so far? RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted June 1, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 1, 2020 I used 2mm Finnboard from 4D modelshop - sprayed wet then carefully curved around a former for a c.30mm radius. Stayed put when dry. Chris 1
exmoordave
Very interesting Chris - I shall look into that. I am trying to find a material for a backscene for my new layout, so this is good timing! Do you have an idea for the best adhesive to use to attach the backscene sheets on top please? All the best & stay safe exmoordave
RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted June 3, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 3, 2020 The backscene I used was self adhesive. I sprayed the board gloss before hand and it just about stuck although if done again I'd find a way of improving the "stick" at the edges. It needed a bit of work later...
