mac1960
I have completed the stock required for my S&C layout (Horton) and all have been renumbered and Yellow striped / Lightening flashed where appropriate and weathered but I have not fitted any train code lights as yet. To be honest I am not sure if it is worth it at N scale, but thought I would ask a larger audience for input. Looking at the N gauge layouts on the circuit there does seem to be a variation in the adoption of head codes being fitted. I just wondered what the forum thinks with regards to their fitting. johnlambert
If you are limiting your locos to specific trains, then adding the correct lamp codes will enhance the overall realism of the scene. If you might use the same loco on different workings (particularly if it might work both passenger and goods), then it depends whether you are more offended by no lamps or incorrect lamps. I've only put lamps on a few of my fleet, mostly due to laziness, and when I run a loco with lamps I always think, "I'm glad I did that, I must do some more".
