Hi everyone,

Further to a recent question in the prototype questions area I purchased a number of books including the volume in the title:

An Illustrated History of BR Wagons Volume One

Compiled by P. Bartlett,D.  Larkin, T. Mann, R. Silsbury, and A. Ward

publ. OPC 1985

Having searched on Amazon, eBay, and Abe, as well as a couple of specific booksellers sites, I cannot find reference to a volume two.  Was it ever published?

Thanks for any help with this.

Regards,

Alex.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the responses.

Southernman46, I have the Rowland book.  The other one is new to me, though I have seen the 'airbrake' volume that accompanies it, and it looks useful.  On the assumption that they are useful as each other, I have now ordered the unfitted/vacuum brake volume.

Thanks for the pointer.

Regards,

Alex.

Unsurprisingly, merry go round wagons, although there is a lot more than rolling stock plans, it covers the whole aspect of MGR operations from pit to power station.

It's also got the correct wagon drawing in it, as opposed to the MRC article.

Highly recommended.

Mike.

It does, Phil, along with Presflo Fly Ash, Gypsum PGAs, Redmire hoppers and the HUO. There's also a lot of  info on terminals and operation.

Cheers Brian thats a copy on the shopping list then....

Hi Mike,

Could you tell me what wagon types are covered by it?

Thanks,

Alex.

Here is a link to my PR blurb https://hmrs.org.uk/publications/books/books-in-print/merry-go-round-on-the-rails.html

which includes a link to a pdf I did of a presentation about it. https://hmrs.org.uk/media/wysiwyg/books/1036.pdf  A full list of the drawings is provided.
