John McKegney
I’ve just received a second turntable motor having returned the first which just didn’t work. The motor unit was seized. Sadly the new one has exactly the same problem? Has anyone had a similar experience. # The turntable itself is a beautiful model and works well. # Hattons are most helpful with no quibble faulty return refunds. jcredfer
Locomotech make an excellent motor gearbox kit, which is silent and can be controlled by a standard DC Controller, or a DCC controller, with a Loco Decoder. Very easy to fit and with the variable speed, realistic rotation speed and easy to dock. Edited June 11, 2020 by jcredfer Add picture
jcredfer
This is what the motor looks like. Julian
stewartingram
Last I heard they were low/out of stock due to covid, anyone know the latest? (I haven't contacted them yet but about to order). jcredfer
They were saying something similar, when I ordered mine. It took just over a week to arrive and was a slightly different Motor/Gearbox but the spec was very close. They did identify the differences, which would seem to make no practical difference at all. It seems that they source small batches, according to demand, but get them from sources, which can deliver in a good timescale. I see no indication that quality is in any way second place. They respond to questions straightforwardly, so it's worth asking what the delivery time might be. Julian
