I was alerted to these by their creator over on NGRM last year and bought some to try out. As the kit pile diminishes with all this modelling time these reached the top!

Dave’s shop on Shapeways has more too ;)

I made life harder by choosing the cheap versatile plastic! They needed a lot of careful sanding, filling and painting.

I eventually got there though :)

Well good enough for me.

They fit the Kato 11-105 chassis, this is where I’ve got to.

Looking forward to seeing the coaches

I’m working on persuading Dave to do some ;) He designed them to match the profile of the L&B and GVT coaches by Peco, ;)

I’ve looked at some TT mk1’s as possibles for the Deltic but Mk3’s would need a master side and roof making if I can’t persuade him.

Would they be flat sided?

I wonder if I could do a side on the Silhouette cutter.

They have a slight tumble home on the lower body side but you could roll that in and then make a master from it. I’ll have a play with the drawings tomorrow and see what they look like size wise ;)

I’ve made up two little ‘sleds’ to hold the LED’s in the HST as they are in a tight space. The positions were marked onto the front beam and slots cut to take the wires so they sit flat.
Aligning them should be fun so I’ll light them up to do that and add some tiny foam strips to reduce light bleed.

Lights adjusted on the Mini HST’s so it doesn’t look like fusion is occurring!

No.4 has borrowed a stack from another loco while they wait for its new one to arrive.

Watched the Titfield Thunderbolt again recently and it started me thinking of a little 7/8ths project.

Didn’t really like disc wheels on a roller . .

At a friends garden we noted last summer that we really needed a proper way to carry the tea to the summer house at the far end of the garden.

DHR Tea van

So I took it upon myself to tackle the IPengineering 16mm Darjeeling tea van and made a few minor mods so the roof can be removed to get the tea out!

The roof was double laminated with three ribs underneath and covered with tissue for canvas. The brake angle crank was added in the bufferbeam and I added the hinges and door lock using some of the spare brackets supplied.

Tomytec do this little Nekoya line mini as a four wheeler you can motorise with a separate chassis pack.

Tomytec electric re-chassis with their ED02 to make it a bogie loco.

I liked the bodyshell but decided it would look better as a bobo so I got the larger ED02 chassis instead.

It fitted with a tiny bit of trimming of the mounting points and a new spacer that sat on top of the chassis.

Tomytec bashing

snug is the term.

So I tested it out and it’s quite happy down to 9” radius with wire added to the link & pin couplers to work with loop couplings once they’re trimmed back a bit.

I started out with the Tomytec Nekoya streetcar but I wasn’t that keen on the colour. I felt something inspired by the New Orleans cars might look good.

Tomytec bashing

Tomytec models are sold as static with optional chassis to motorise them. The chassis they’re designed to fit hasn’t been in stock for a while so I went with the ED02 which has larger wheels that I think actually look better.  Some chopping out of the mounting sun chassis was required to get them in.

They come apart to make painting easier.

lining the ends was ‘fun’ with fine 2mm lining from Railtec as it’s difficult to get it straight amongst the details. Fortunately the excellent transfers stood up to my faffing around.

The nearly finished results. Still a few tweaks on fit due to painting to fettle.
