Love the way all that point rodding goes under the buffer stop

Until something has an unintended interface with the stop block.   At which time it is a question of what will break first and if it happens to be the fishplates approaching the block it will be goodbye point rodding.  Not that anybody had much choice when laying in the rodding run - they probably had the option of going under it or going behind it and chose the one they considered safest and/or offering the best geometry.

They say every picture tells a story and this one looks like it. It has all the look of having to  clean of the fire on the road the way the clinker shovel is just over the coal as if the fireman has stopped to see the train through the station.   Its the bar dumped on the back that interests me.
