Hi,

 

I'm new to railway modelling and just planning my first layout (00), something like a shunting puzzle, perhaps with a small branch terminus, for me to learn a number of modelling techniques and have some operating fun / interest. After my interest in building a model railway was re-ignited, following a steam day on the Torbay Express in 2018, I have been watching and learning from Youtube videos and visiting exhibitions.

 

Sadly my first trainset (2nd hand Triang / Hornby set acquired circa 1965) which I happily played with as a child, and later my children played with, was recently found to have suffered major water damage while in storage following several house moves. Some rolling stock may be salvageable but otherwise I'm starting from scratch - which may well be a positive.

 

I enjoy trying and learning new things so I'm excited what this hobby will bring me, and what I may be able to eventually offer back.
