Clagmeister
It has been a while. Moving jobs, moving houses and no time for modelling. Catching up with it all now. Nice to see an old favourite of a layout still going strong. I have plans for a sweeping curve on the Perth road in N that are coming together. Nice to catch up :-)
Andrew P
Peter, from what I remember it's CV188, with just 4 settings, 1,2,3,4, even on 1, I found mine quite loud compared with the level you can get an ESU or Zimo down to. I also adjusted some other settings and had really slow smooth running in the end, but I cant remember those setting now, sorry.

The Cv you need to change for the volume is cv182, be careful though as the maximum volume level is 8. As for running quality, if I remember correctly changing cv 150 is one of the main ones. If it reads 0 change it to 1 and visa versa. As I wrote earlier you tube is a great source of info with people filming their experiences and what cv's they've changed for better running of individual chips. Popular Post P.C.M
So I have finally have the chance to sort the CVs on 31444. Changing CV 50 to 1 improved the running no end changing CV 182 to get the sound volume down made no difference but changing CV161 which is at the top of the volume list for engine start up has the loco now runs and sounds a lot better. Thanks for the help. Cheers Peter. Edited August 23, 2020 by P.C.M 19
Popular Post P.C.M
Another new addition to the Llanbourne fleet is a Hornby 142 pacer. This one has been a long time coming, I had two running before going DCC but they were not the best runners and even worse when I hard wired a decoder into one. Somewhile back I bought a High level kits etch and motor to improve running. While that sat in a box I did remove the motors from one 142 and lower it to run with my Bachmann 150 this worked quite well as I always thought the Hornby model sat too high. Anyway I made a start last month and had a crack at the high level kit, it went together well but took a bit of faffing to get it sitting at the right ride hight but it's now done and running quite well. 22
P.C.M
Recent additions to the wagon fleet. Some much needed barriers for working on the branch. Cheers Peter. Well only one pic cos it won't let me load anymore.
RBE
Barring running the Hornby Pacer was always a pretty nice model I thought. With a new motor it should be pretty good!

Hi Cav, I agree, they look ok running with newer stock I just improved the exhaust pipes and removed the molded handrail on the front and made up a wire one. Getting them to sit lower certainly helps too. Cheers Peter
P.C.M
More barrier pics. First two use the Bachmann chassis the last one is a Hornby ferry van chassis.
RBE
Nice work Peter, this was my steel runner from back in the Outon Road days, built from a Hornby van chassis. 9

Thanks Cav, I remember Outon Road great layout. My two previous barriers were based on the Hornby chassis like yours but both had warped though one isn't too bad and might still get some use. P.C.M
I have finally finished the FNA flask. I am not 100% happy with the colour but it will do. The colour does vary from wagon to wagon from the pics I found. 11 1
