Mugs with names on is a very good

We don’t have any mugs with names on. Aditi had a collection of bright pink mugs she took to work as they seemed less likely to be used by some of her colleagues. She didn’t mind her mugs being borrowed just being abandoned to grow semi sentient mould rather than being washed. I can remember MiL presenting Aditi with a mug (gift from Betty’s tea establishment somewhere in a Yorkshire ). It had been a fraught weekend where MiL had been rather critical of Aditi. This mug had “For a daughter and friend, two blessings in one”. Aditi enquired who was supposed to be the friend. We still have the mug. MiL still has loads of mugs given to FiL by drug company reps. I have no idea if visitors get the Rohypnol branded mug.

I have a cupboard at one end of the workbench in the workshop.

This is my 7mm storage cupboard.  The place where all non made kits or  7 mm spares related items are supposed to be kept.

It is absolutely rammed!

Not with kits or spares, they are all kept in another cupboard.

No this particular hidey hole is the place where all my Dapol wagon boxes have retired to.

The conversation with myself earlier on went something like this:

Those are good boxes.

Will I use them again?

No I won't.

Should I get rid of them?

What happens if I want to sell the wagons?

Will you sell the wagons?

No.

So get rid of the boxes.

But they could be useful couldn't they?

Yes they could, but you need the space.

Agreed, but should I store them elsewhere, just in case?

Where would you store them?

In the garage roof.

Is there space?

No but there would be if I got rid of all the 4 mm boxes.

Should I get rid of the 4mm boxes?

No because I need to box up the stuff I'm going to sell.

Have you sorted out that stuff yet?

No.

Well you should shouldn't you?

Yes, but I want to get rid of the 7 mm boxes from the cupboard first.

OK, but will you use them again......................

And so it goes on!

So not nit picking or anything but what's to stop it rolling over with you inside.

From a Google search.
To ensure the 1.5 ton Egg wouldn’t float off down the river, the team added an extra 1.5 tons in the form of twin keels and large water-filled canisters inside the boat that can be emptied or filled depending on the buoyancy required.

I cancelled it when I found out the 1.5 tonne egg was not made of chocolate!

Even I have some standards.

I believe that we should be entitled to sensible portions.

A Mars Bar the size of a breezeblock and Fruit Gums the size of side plates would be a step in the right direction

I took all my stock of Slaters 7mm boxes to the clubrooms and left them on the table, they went remarkably quickly.  Only trouble was when I bought a job lot of O gauge stock from a friend before coming over here, many of them came back but with various scratchbuilt wagons and vans in them.

I am currently very frustrated at the RWC 2023 ticketing site.

Nyda sat on it from 11 am this morning only to get her bid for a 2 packs of tickets rejected as unavailable.

Now all bands of tickets are unavailable. So that would suggest that all  2.5 Million tickets have been sold before they go on sale later on in the next month to the unregistered public.

Either the site has crashed or the ticket scalpers are out in force.  I suspect the latter.

* There were various stipulations for the presale of group tickets today.

I can try again on 18th when they say all tickets will be available!

Try fastening a shelf to the walls :jester:

My grandmother was born and spent her early life living in a turret but that I suppose only curved one way.

Depends on which way up its positioned. A German friend of mine had a shed/summerhouse made from a large wine cask, two metres in diameter and about four long.

Some bounder is allowing their canine companion to foul the grass at the front of the property. (It appears to be a verge, but our boundary finishes at the road.)

Having owned a number of dogs over the years, I have no issue with their dog dropping it's ashpan on the verge, providing the owner removes the evidence at their earliest convenience, but this is not happening.

I shall be installing a trail camera which will be triggered by a motion detector to save on battery power.
