Although the Duke of Edinburgh was happy to have his DNA help identify the Romanovs that was a different branch of the family. When the remains of Richard III were identified by using DNA that didn't come from the royal family. But questions have been raised about the anomalies found in the DNA. Perhaps there's something about the rumours of Edward IV not being of royal blood? Perhaps the Royals are twitchy about a secret child appearing - imagine the fall-out if it's discovered that Prince William isn't the first-born after all..... 2 2

It's legitimacy that counts. The Duke of Monmouth was Charles II's eldest but his attempt for the protestant succession failed dismally. And there were thirteen more after him. RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted October 20, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 20, 2021 For the avoidance of doubt amongst readers who may not have kept up to speed with The Night Mail, Poly's comment "Jeez, the front of that thing is pig ugly. The rest ain't much better." was not made in reference to the Duchess of Cornwall.

SM42
As you can tell I am back from a very nice day of train watching This was followed by tea at the in-laws which was followed half an hour later by supper consisting of table full of bread, cheese, ham, sausage and assorted snacks and of course the obligatory bottle of vodka. It has been decreed that we are to accompany the sister in law tomorrow as she takes the nephew to music school. She and Mrs SM42 are going for facial whilst he parps away on a saxophone. The school is just round the corner from the station. I wonder what I could do to fill the time? Andy 2 2

RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted October 20, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 20, 2021 For various reasons I won't go into, I haven't visited TNM for a while so when I was finally able to have a peek this evening I thought, "Oh, good, something to cheer me up after the recent doom and gloom." But what did I find? Inflated house prices, royal poo, ugly locomotives and poor old Stubby being made redundant. Then just as I was being cheered by the thought of one of Jamie's coaches bumping along on one bogie even that was snatched away. About the only bright spot left is the idea that we could end up with King Polybear the first, which would probably result in the kitchen at Buck House being rebuilt and appearing in RMW.
