Squirrel Rail
No railways today as packing up and tidying away ready for Christmas so wishing everyone a merry Christmas and here's a nice snow scene from the Squirrel Rail archives in lieu of a Christmas card. It's 47264 at a very chilly Ipswich in Dec 78. Cheers Jerry

The 47843 I've just finished is straying into James' area of expertise so hopefully he will not find too much wrong with it! Cheers Jerry Haha, love it Jerry! I very much like it indeed, got to love a downtrodden 47 of any variety!! I’ve also been lapping up your many new ‘87’s and ‘90’s too, it’s making me want to get back into modelling early 2000s AC electrics again seeing all these old favourites coming back in miniature with new-gen models! Cheers, James

Cheers, James id say do it, got to have some electrics especially with the outstanding Bachmann 90s and the upcoming Heljan 86s. The Hornby 87s can do with better pans but those are fixable. Hopefully you go ahead

Popular Post Squirrel Rail
Well Christmas has been and gone and had a break from railway work but have been busy with this.... I just love all things EE and this has been on my to do list since 2017 when I had built the airframe. This one is 1/32 scale so a sizeable beast I picked the F2A as they wore the plain green uppers and were quite tatty in service so a good excuse for weathering. I had hoped to get it all finished over the holiday but still need to do some work on the cockpit and repaint the kit yellow lining on the canopy which is poor. Normal service will resume tomorrow when Squirrel Rail opens again- Happy New year everyone, cheers Jerry 11 2
rob D2
That’s a cool jet Jerry, you feel like you could actually move those straps and get in there. I used to work with an ex lightning pilot , he was deaf as a post, not sure how he kept a flying medical

We had the Lightning’s up the road at Wattisham so used to see them over here and was always one of my favourites at air displays- no wonder the guy you know was deaf as a post!!
Squirrel Rail
Rail day today busy ordering and preparing some new jobs, GBRF 66 for renumbering and weathering, 60015 to become 034 and six steel carriers to weather and a colas 60 to respray to GVRF and a rake of Seacows to weather in N Gauge- quite a lot as can be seen here! The 66 has been renumber Ed and is awaiting its numbers and plates, likewise the 3 tone 60. I’ve rubbed down the overly thick sector decals ready for their replacement and the next job is to repaint the bottom half rail grey as the colours awful! Here it is with the paint on but all the masks still in place and below with the masks all off last job has been fitting the handbrakes to the Seacows so tomorrow can get the N gauge 60 ready for paint and start the wagons.

Squirrel Rail
Busy day again today. First up the OO 60 is now named and recalled so next up will be the weathering. It’s little brother has been rubbed down and masked ready for primer. mans with its primer on The other job to start today is a rake of Seacows. All of the interiors have had a base coat of rust / muck This was followed up with a wash on the exterior so they’re ready for the start of the airbrush work and the last job of the day was to lay down some rust inside and out before leaving them until tomorrow for the start of the dirt!!

rob D2
I hope I’m not the bearer of bad news but that 60 looks like the one Hornby cocked up the placement of the sector logos, before reissuing a new body. Check the small blue square .

RMweb Premium Norski Posted January 6, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 6, 2021 Jerry + Rob I did find this photo of 60034 where the blue overlaps on to the roof. I've seen others where it doesn't quite reach it !!
