More progress with the 47,57,31 and the pair of 50s. Most of the day has been spent fitting detail packs and decaling - our first post since the 5th of January arrived today - unfortunately orders I placed last week have arrived but those from the 1st week in January haven't ....so the 47 and 31 have gone as far as I can for the present. The knock on effect is my workbench schedule is screwed as locos I should have done at the start of the month haven't got their transfers or plates so having to swap things around- hopefully back to normal soon! Here's the first group, nearly there...

The decals have also arrived for the 50s so these have been done, plates to go on Resolution then they will move to weathering with the 57.

Is that blue 47 destined to be 47593 ?

intrigued on the 31, the 47 at the back too.

its like looking looking over the fence at a BR paint shop !

I’d be thinking about another LL blue 47 that is hanging on for dear life currently but 5/6 years ago looked very good indeed!

The 47 will be 847 hence the different shade of grey for the roof from normal L/L livery. The 31 is to become 601 and the 47/7 will become  717 in parcels over the coming weeks!

As the workbench schedule is in temporary tatters I debranded the Virgin 91 and DVT

I then renumbered and added the LNER branding using the Railtec patches ala the full size version!

whilst these are drying thought I would start on the next job, NR tractors with one to become 97304 and some fading and weathering to look forward to- here they are pristine with one de- numbered awaiting replacements

With the schedule slightly awry I thought I would get ahead today with loads of prep including the 47 which will get primed tomorrow and a few 90s which I’ve been meaning to get on with, two of these are customers but the others will be wait and see. Hopefully I can post some more interesting stuff over the next few days!

Well after spending most of yesterday taking things apart it was time to get some things on the road to recovery. A day on the squirrel workbench has resulted in the following' first up some primer on a 47 and 90 which will be going into parcels and RES liveries; not exciting but an important step towards a good and robust finish. I will flatten this off tomorrow and can then get some colour on..

Next job was to varnish the LNER patches,

Followed by reassemble number and name the next 90, Have sprayed the back of the cab roofs white to match the body and the lamp irons, lost the worksplate and a couple of other details added so this ones nearly there..

Rest of the day has been spent starting the weathering on the 50s the 57 and renaming 45040 to 039 and starting  that one too. I'm hoping to start the airbrush work on these tomorrow

and a last pic of 018

D400 looks better and better each time I look at it.

has that one got a home ?

At this rate rtr 90’s are going to become rare .. you’ll have resprayed them all ;-)

D400, 50018 and the 47 all belong to the same customer, it definitely looks better than the green 007 donor ( in my opinion anyway!!)

More 90s Jerry? ;)

What’s the odds that the ‘wait and see’ liveries will be announced by Bachmann next month?

looking forward to seeing what those will be mate

Hi Jack, there’s very little news from Bachmann of what’s coming but these should slip under their radar!! Ps I located the chip - it was in 045 and the owner very kindly sent it back as he is going to sound fit it! Cheers Jerry

One more job today was getting some primer on this little beauty- it’s a Judith Edge kit Taurus, The owner has made a great job of the build and I have the pleasure of painting it for him;

A coat of primer has gone on and will smooth it all out tomorrow or Monday.

Final colours will be green, grey roof, red buffer beams with handrails in white. The underframes will be black- should look great!

Did you modernise 90002 at all Jerry?
The new ‘dome’ roof pod rather than the button? Can just seeing poking up here!

it’ll look wicked as well if the customer got the lights corrected to the led type with bi directional marker/tail lights. I need to speak to Illuminated Models to see if they’ll do something to achieve that.

Hi Jack, I’ve got to cast a couple as I need one for another one - too cold out in the garage today!  It would be good to have the lights as a rtr option but as you say that’s one for the owner - I’ll stick to painting !!
